Microsoft’s Latest Offer in their Popular Xbox 360 Gaming System

Recently, Microsoft launched a slimmer and quieter console design of Xbox 360. The 250GB model priced at $299 reached its highest sales in June and exceeded that of their famous competitors Wii and PS3.

At present, Microsoft is thinking of further strengthening their efforts in the console market by introducing their new Xbox 360 product featuring a 4GB flash memory from the 250GB HDD. The black exterior of the new console will also be changed from a shiny to a matte finish. The 802.11 wireless support feature is retained in the 4GB console for the benefit of most gamers.

Aside from the introduction of the 4GB console, Microsoft also made an announcement of a motion control accessory for Xbox which they call Kinect. The accessory alone is priced at $149 but when bought in a bundle together with the 4GB Xbox 360 console, it will be offered for $299.

The COO of Xbox 360 Dennis Durkin said that the quality of entertainment offered by Kinect for Xbox 360 is good for the entire family. It has a unique feature of showing the full body and voice of the players and they can play without the use of a controller for a truly enjoyable gaming experience.

Here are the manufacturer notes:

Amazon.com has had over 274 reviews from users and the reaction has been very positive.

Actual reviews:

We have all the systems, Xbox, Xbox 360, playstation 2, playstation 3, PSP, DSL, Wii, Itouch and now new Xbox 360 Kinect (video games are my addiction)

Positives about the new 360 with Kinect:
-Supper easy to install (even if you never own an xbox before)
-Has built in memory (old 360 didn’t)
-You can add flash drives for even More memory (not xbox 360 memory card that cost $60, normal flash drive you can pick up for $20)
-Has built in Wi-Fi nothing to install to connect xbox live (old 360 you had buy an antenna)
-You can control the xbox main menu with your VOICE, say xbox, say game, voice command soo Neat and Easy, so if your controller battiers die no biggy just tell it what to do!! No controller needed.
-Kinect games are way More Fun then Wii, my 65 yr old mother (grandma) was playing with the kids everyone was laughing, jumping and enjoyed it!!
-Kinect games are easier then Wii for little kids but Fun for adults too.

This is my first Xbox and I am really impressed. The picture quality, the sound, and the online multiplayer gaming are all top notch. At first, I wasn’t sure that 4GB was enough and I immediately ran out of space when I started downloading demos and previews. But then I learned to delete before downloading. Also, memory could be expanded at any time for a price, of course. The Kinect is an amazing piece of technology. However, after using it for a couple of weeks the games become boring and you don’t go back to it and you will end up using the wireless controller most of the time to play games like “Call of Duty.” I didn’t have any issues with the Kinect distance. We placed it at about 2 feet above ground and I think we were asked to move within 6 feet. The downloads were ver slow although I have a fast Internet. But in general, I am pleased with this purchase and I have no negatives to warn against.

Benefits of Xbox 360 4GB with Kinect Bundle

You can have fun with any computer game while exercising and stretching your body at the same time. Your movements are well tracked so that you can move properly and accurately.

Aside from the best fun it brings, the kinect bundle also comes with the advantages offered by Xbox live. You can enjoy movies, play games in multiple characters and connect with social networking sites through its built in 802.11 wireless internet connection. Moreover, its built-in Wifi feature will allow you to quickly connect with Xbox Live.

Traditional Parts of Xbox 360 4GB admin with Kinect bundle

The new Xbox 360 bundle still uses the traditional parts of the old model. Thus, you can still use your old controller. However, if you want better performance, then you may opt for the newer parts. As for the Kinect sensor, the wireless system makes it possible for you to stay up to 30 feet away. USB ports are also available for plug and play purposes. This is not your old cheap xbox 360.

Xbox 360 VS Playstation 3

Monday, April 26th, 2010

For those of you considering a xbox 360 over a playstation 3 console, you may be at a impasse. Well, I came across a great article today that talks about the difference between the two.

I guess alot of whether or not you are going to get an xbox over a play station depends on the kinds of games you like to play, and the overall features you are looking for. One thing for Sure, the xbox is really popular, and I think it rivals playstation.

Xbox 360 VS Playstation 3

Comparing both these consoles will be revealing experience, for the game lovers, and they will be in a better position to choose one of them as their permanent gaming solution. The processor of the PS3 has a processing speed of 3.2GHz with up to 8 synergistic processing units. On the other hand, The Xbox 360 sports a custom 3.2GHz G5 with 3 dual-threaded cores. The PS 3 contains an L2 cache of 512K, while the Xbox 360 has an L2 cache of 1 MB. There is a 256MB of main memory plus 256MB of video memory in PS3, while the Xbox 360 shares a 512MB of memory between the CPU and GPU, additionally it has 10MB of very efficient e-DRAM dedicated solely to the GPU. The bandwidth memory of the PS3 is 25.6GB/s as compared to 22.4GB/s for the Xbox 360.

The PS 3 utilizes a NVIDIA RSX, Reality Synthesizer, graphics processor with 24 pixel pipelines and 12 vertex pipelines, while the Xbox 360 Elite utilizes a custom ATI processor with 48 combined pixel & vertex pipelines. As the CPU and GPU power is combined in the PS3, it is rated at 51 billion dpo/s, while The Xbox 360 is rated at 34 billion dpo/s.

The PS 3 console comes with a 60 GB memory, while the Xbox 360 supports a 120 GB memory. The PS 3 optical drive is Blu-ray CD ROM, which supports DVD movie discs or Blu-ray movie discs. On the other hand, The Xbox 360 contains a Dual-Layer DVD-ROM drive. In order to play High Definition movies on the Xbox 360, an external tray load HD-DVD player must be purchased, which is an add-on feature. The PS3 supports various memory cards while The Xbox 360 contains two memory card slots that only accept proprietary memory units. Both consoles share the feature of multiple USB 2.0 ports.

These comparisons were made, keeping in view very common features of both consoles, and I hope it has provided with an insight into both these consoles, and will help you in making a good decision, when you will go shopping.
